VolEq support

Install carefully, check the known issues, and share only what is safe.

Read before installing

v0.1.0 has known permission-denial and full-system-sleep defects. Review the latest release page and the current repository documentation before installation.

Install

  1. Open the latest release page and download the Apple Silicon DMG.
  2. Open the DMG and drag VolEq Community to Applications.
  3. Launch the installed application.
  4. Start audio in the application you want to level, choose Start, and follow the macOS System Audio Recording prompt.

The published v0.1.0 application is still named VolEq Community; the shorter application name belongs to the unreleased 0.1.1 source.

Troubleshooting

If VolEq is active but you hear no sound, use its No sound? help to open Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording. For the current sleep/wake issue, stop or quit VolEq to restore the original path, then start it again.

Prefer the canonical compatibility documentation over copied troubleshooting instructions that may drift.

Report a reproducible problem

Use GitHub Issues for reproducible bugs and focused feature requests. Include:

  • VolEq version
  • macOS version
  • Output-device type
  • Application-specific or device-wide capture mode
  • Minimal reproducible steps and the observed result

Do not attach private recordings, credentials, proprietary material, or sensitive logs to a public issue.

Security and private support

For vulnerabilities, follow the repository’s security-reporting instructions. Do not disclose an audio-exposure, permission, feedback, or system-integrity issue in a public ticket.

For support that should not be public, email doczy.patrik410@gmail.com. Exclude sensitive data unless it is necessary and you have considered the risks of sending it by email.
